“Molly” is a commissioned piece of a furry black and white cat who was fondly known for her love of soft blankets and piles of socks. Learning that her owner’s favorite color is purple, I chose a mix of rich blues and red hues to create any of the darker, “black” fur and other areas of the piece. What was adorable about the way this little Miss Molly poised with her front paws together was the impression of a “heart” pattern. I thoroughly enjoyed creating this painting which was sent off to Portland, Maine, USA upon its completion.
