The Eagle Owl
18" x 24" Acrylic Painting on Canvas
“Welcome to Tawny Town!” The tawny color of this raptor is not a very “striking” color until you combine it with those pointy talons and fierce orange eyes! The Eurasian Eagle Owl is one of the largest owl’s in the world -- residing in Europe, Asia, and north Africa. They help maintain a healthy ecosystem by controlling the population of their prey like… well, here is a list, according to The Peregrine Fund: voles, rats, rabbits, other birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish, and insects. As picky as the Green Sea Turtle is -- the Eurasian Eagle Owl isn’t. They seem to pick on anything smaller that moves!
With the help of government and wildlife conservation organizations around the world, these beautiful birds have been making a successful comeback in numbers.
